Tír na Fiúise, meaning The Land of Fuchsia, was set up in 1999 by the Heenan family on their organic farm near Terryglass village in rural Tipperary. The family has lived here and worked the land for many generations.
Just 2 hours from Dublin and located in the heart of Ireland, Niall & Inez Heenan have converted the barns, just down the lane from their farmhouse, to self-catering accommodation available by the week. With several years' experience operating an award-winning farmhouse B&B, they aim to offer a homely base to visitors seeking an authentic rural experience; different from what is found in traditional tourist areas.
Tír na Fiúise now boasts three self-catering cottages, carefully restored in the traditional style using eco-friendly materials. Each cottage is fully equipped, has its own style and is decorated in a fresh, country look.
Why not dabble in a bit of organic farming, saunter through the adjacent bog or explore exquisite Tipperary countryside by foot, bike or car. Only 1.5 hours from Shannon airport, the area has some excellent restaurants and pubs and the nearby Lough Derg offers fishing, cruising and much more!
