Birr Outdoor Education Centre is located on the Roscrea Road, Birr, Co. Offaly. Set in the heart of peaceful countryside, Birr lies near the meeting of the Camcor and the little Brosna Rivers. The town is a good example of well preserved Georgian architecture. Progress and development have not spoiled the grace and elegance of wide streets, pleasant gardens and period houses.
Just eight miles from the center lie the Slieve Bloom Mountains, which provide a rich field for the Historian, Antiquarian, Archaeologist, Geologist and Botanist. For those who do not share these specialized interests, there are over 40 kilometers of waymarked trails, exemplifying the beauty of mountain forest, glen and stream.
